Medical emergency abroad – OMICRON UPDATE

SUSPENDEND HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN

(MEDIC & Quebec Health Insurance Plan)

The Public Health Agency of Canada is advising travellers, that as of December 15, 2021, all non-essential travel outside of Canada should be avoided, regardless of vaccination status. For more details, visit the Government of Canada website.

Therefore: If you are already outside the country, you should be aware that your MEDIC card is suspended for all coverage, as well as the Quebec Health Insurance Plan. Make sure you have coverage with another insurance company to cover your medical expenses.

Please note that your Health Insurance Plan will be valid once you return to the country, provided you notify them.
