The Government of Québec with the CCQ has introduced new measures to facilitate women’s access to the Construction Industry as of December 12, 2016. By increasing the number of women working on construction sites it will contribute to the fight against prejudices and help to change the mentality. The changes concern the Regulation Respecting the Issuance of Competency Certificates, the Act Respecting Labor Relations, Vocational Training, and Workforce Management in the Construction Industry and the Regulation Respecting the Hiring and Mobility of Employees in the Construction Industry. The 4 new measures will meet the commitments made by the CCQ in the Women’s Equity Access Program in the Construction Industry. The CCQ aims to increase the share of the women workforce on construction sites in Quebec to 3% by 2018. A support service for the integration of women in the construction industry was set up by the CCQ last July.
