Local 568 International was founded in 1919 and is affiliated with the American Federation of Labour, the Congress of Industrial Organizations, the Canadian Labour Congress and holds its Charter from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), the largest electrical union in the world. Local Union 568 represents more than 2000 electricians, apprentices, linemen and workers from the manufacturing sector.

The IBEW represents workers of assembling, installation, repairs, material maintenance, electrical and electronic equipments of all kinds. We also represent workers of high technology such as fiber optics, structured wiring and VDV, railroad workers and also construction workers who represent approximately 50% of the membership of this great Brotherhood.

Members who work in the United States benefit from four pension plans more than members of provincial unions. Those pension plans allow our members to enjoy their well deserved retirements comfortably.

We are founded on a democratic structure. All Officers have been elected by the members, the real decision-makers!
