The construction is the most important sector of the IBEW with almost 500 000 members working as linemen and apprentices, electricians and apprentices.

In the Province of Quebec almost 2 000 construction workers chose Local 568 to represent them towards the different organism in the construction industry.

Furthermore, the IBEW represents telecommunications workers, those of the CATV, manufacturing industries of all kinds, also the railway workers and government employees.
